Name: Her birthname is Chinese: 安 (peaceful) 霞 (misty) 路 (road), or An
Xia Lu. She decided in high school that she was thoroughly tired of
people butchering her name, so she decided that she'd simplify it for
them-- Asellus. Since the general population can't even say THAT, she
goes by "Sellz", or sometimes "Sellzy", though her aunt still uses her
full name.
Series/Fandom: SaGa Frontier (1), for the PSX.
Age: 18, coming up on 19.
Gender: Female!
Sexuality: 75% straight, 25% gay. She has a passing interest in women,
but has determined that they are too much drama, so she tends to stick
with men who aren't a hassle.
Student or Faculty Member/Professor: Freshman student.
Major: Political Science.
Minor: None..
Occupation: She works in a flowershop downtown, doing arrangements and
deliveries.
Appearance:
Asellus stands around five-six, and she's thin, with next to no
curvature. (She'll tell you, with only the slightest bit of shame,
that she's a 36B.) She's pale, for her nationality, with big dark eyes
and short-cropped dark hair, straight as a stick. Typically, she
dresses in bright colors, but casually-- jeans and bright shirts,
usually. She's got a very feminine side that shows up in the oddest of
places: lace edging on her clothing, ribbons for a belt, heeled shoes.
Personality:
Asellus has a very, very competitive personality. She's dynamic,
energetic, and wholly intolerant of anyone trying to say they're
better than her; this drive reflects into her grades very clearly.
She's got the work ethic to end all work ethics, and energy to spare,
mostly because she doesn't seem to expend it often, preferring
laid-back facades. She's a little judgmental; she looks down upon
those who prey on those weaker than them, and she does tend to leap to
the weaker's defense. She's idealistic above all else, and she
honestly wants to help others and/or change the world. Of course,
sometimes this doesn't work out too well, but she can't help it, and
her intentions are always good. This being said, she tends to come
across as something more dubious in nature, mostly through her
selectivity when it comes to what's an offense enough to fight for and
what isn't.
History:
Asellus was born to a mother of indeterminate origin and a Chinese
father. Her father was never around, and she didn't miss him much; her
mother died sometime around Asellus' fifth birthday. Her father's
sister took up the care of the little girl, raising her to do well and
to live a traditional life, after gaining a good job and husband.
Throughout her life, Asellus went through many cram schools, many
side-lessons, and she had no trouble with school; fluent in English
and Chinese, she had no trouble learning anything, really, though she
was particularly good with history and government. This led her to
apply to Evergrove's political science college, to pursue her deep
interest in it. Of course, her aunt believes she's going to be a
lawyer, but the truth is that Asellus has no idea what she wants to do
or whether it will anger her aunt to follow what path comes to her.
But she feels drawn to this path, and believes that the right way will
be shown to her in time. Besides, she reasons, her aunt isn't paying
for this-- the trust her mother set up is. So what she does with
school is her business, right?
